Open Source Technology
Core Value: Open Source Technology
Technology is rapidly changing in the 21st century, and we believe that it can be used for the holistic transformation of people's lives. However we also know that nonprofit organizations (and NGOs) can experience technology gaps, confusion, and inefficiencies as a result of outdated technology or lack of technical personnel. We believe that Open Source Software is very valuable, and we believe that if we advocate for open source software usage to our clients, they will save lots of money while still getting the quality software they need.
Support for Open Source Software platforms include (but is not limited to): Drupal, WordPress, Mifos, Ushahidi, GNUCash, OpenOffice, Firefox, and Linux operating systems. We also look for, and support, free or reduced-cost services for nonprofit organizations provided by companies, such as Google Apps (which is free for registered nonprofit organizations in the United States with fewer than 3,000 employees).
